A views-exchange meeting ahead of Durga Puja 2026 has been held by Maheshpur police station in Jhenaidah. It took place at 10am on Saturday on the station’s premises.
The meeting was chaired by the station’s officer-in-charge, Md Azad Rahman. Jhenaidah’s superintendent of police, Ashrafuzzaman, spoke as chief guest. The special guests who spoke were Assistant Professor Ismail Hossain Palash, secretary of the Maheshpur upazila Jamaat; Lutfor Rahman, president of the Maheshpur Adarsha Press Club; Dabir Uddin Biswas, general secretary of the upazila BNP; and its organising secretary, Ziaur Rahman Zia. Leaders of the Maheshpur upazila branch of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Committee and the presidents and secretaries of various puja mandaps in the upazila were present, as were journalist Sarwar Hossain and local dignitaries.
