Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah held a colourful rally and a discussion meeting to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day 2026 on 7 November.
The upazila administration led the rally from the upazila council grounds at 11am on Saturday, 7 November.
A discussion meeting followed at the upazila auditorium.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sajjad Hossain presided over the meeting.
Upazila BNP president Mehedi Hasan Rony was the chief guest.
Those present and speaking included Principal Maulana Abdul Hai, assistant secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Jhenaidah district unit and a former upazila chairman; upazila BNP general secretary Dabir Uddin Biswas; municipal BNP president Aminul Islam Khan and organising secretary Sohag Khan; upazila agriculture officer Yasmin Sultana; social services officer Mustafizur Rahman; Maheshpur police station inspector (investigation) Enayet Hossain; and Nuruzzaman, member secretary of the upazila freedom fighters’ command, along with other leaders and officials.
Upazila ICT officer Mainul Islam moderated the meeting.
The speakers described the historic significance of 7 November and called on everyone to work together for national unity, solidarity and the country’s development.
