The body of an unidentified woman has been found in a paddy field near Chapatala village along the Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah.
The body was recovered from Ismail’s field in the Kusumpur BOP area on Tuesday afternoon.
Border Guard Bangladesh said the body was spotted about two kilometers inside Bangladesh from border pillar 61/18-R. The relevant authorities were then notified.
Police from Maheshpur Police Station headed to the scene after receiving the information.
Officer-in-Charge Imran Alam said the woman’s identity and cause of death were not immediately known. Police were working to identify her and prepare an inquest report.
Residents were awaiting the police investigation to determine who the woman was and how she died.
