Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a chicken-laden pickup on the Feni-Parshuram road near the Fulgazi upazila council in Feni. Six others were injured.
The accident happened in front of the rural electrification (Palli Bidyut) office near the upazila council on Saturday (27 June) evening.
The dead are Wahida Akter Juha, 20, wife of Kazi Azad of Pathangar in the upazila, and CNG driver Mohammad Kawsar, 25, son of Abul Kalam of Daulatpur village in Fulgazi Sadar union.
Fulgazi police station officer-in-charge SM Mizanur Rahman said the injured were rescued after the accident and taken to the 250-bed Feni General Hospital, but CNG driver Kawsar and passenger Juha died on the way. The other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He added that the bodies had been sent to the morgue for autopsies and the two vehicles involved seized, and that necessary legal steps were being taken.
