Journalists in Chuadanga district have attended a multimedia fact-checking training on countering rumors and disinformation. The session was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday (June 17), organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) with support from the Chuadanga Press Club. It was conducted by PIB trainer Sahanawar Sayed Shahin and chaired by club president Nazmul Haque Swapan.
Chuadanga Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar, the chief guest, inaugurated the training.
Speakers at the opening session included Chuadanga Press Club general secretary Shah Alam Sony and journalists Sardar Al Amin, Bipul Ashraf, Hussain Malik and Rajib Hasan Kochi.
Inaugurating the program, Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar said the training was important for journalists. “A situation has now arisen where we cannot tell what to believe and what not to believe,” she said. “That is why this training carries great importance, to help us understand these matters.”
