A Partner Field School Congress was held in Gangnee upazila, Meherpur, on Thursday (June 25) to connect local farmers with modern agricultural technology and promote sustainable farming at the grassroots level. The event was organised by the Department of Agricultural Extension at the Gangnee Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Anwar Hossain presided, and a welcome address was delivered by Upazila Agricultural Officer Md. Matiur Rahman. The keynote was presented by Sheikh Sajjad Hossain, senior monitoring officer, DAE Partner, Jessore.
The chief guest was Almagir Bishwas, additional director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Jessore region. Sanjib Mridha, deputy director, Department of Agricultural Extension, Meherpur, attended as special guest.
Four vermicompost separator machines were distributed to four local farmers at the event to support modern production methods. Speakers said that through farmer training, the adoption of modern technology and necessary support, agricultural production can be increased and farmers’ livelihoods improved. Officials from the agriculture department, field school members and local farmers attended.
