Education minister orders CCTV in every HSC exam room

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in every examination room to ensure the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations are held in a fair, orderly and copying-free environment.

The education minister gave the directive on Saturday while joining virtually a discussion meeting with the secretaries of examination centres under the Rajshahi Education Board. The meeting was held at the auditorium of the Rajshahi Prison Training Centre.

At the meeting, the minister gave centre secretaries various directives for the smooth conduct of the higher secondary examinations beginning on 2 July.

The minister said CCTV cameras must be installed in every examination room to ensure transparency and discipline, and that those concerned must exercise the utmost caution to maintain a copying-free environment.

Rajshahi deputy commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Rajshahi Education Board chairman Professor Dr Shamim Ara Chowdhury were present. Secretaries of various examination centres also took part.

At the meeting, board chairman Professor Dr Shamim Ara Chowdhury said the examinations would be held at 208 centres across 8 districts under the Rajshahi Education Board this time, with 1,40,830 students taking part. She expressed hope that, with everyone’s cooperation, the examinations could be completed in a fair and peaceful environment.
