With this year’s HSC and equivalent results out, preparations for university admission have begun. Admission tests for first-year undergraduate places in the 2026-27 academic year start within the next month.
Several universities have already announced their test dates and unit-by-unit schedules. Admission season will open on 5 December with the IBA unit test at Dhaka University.
Dhaka University
Dhaka University’s 2026-27 admission tests begin on 5 December with the IBA unit. The A unit follows on 12 December, the B unit on 19 December, the Fine Arts unit on 22 December and the C unit on 26 December. Online applications are open from 11 to 25 November.
Rajshahi University
Rajshahi University’s tests begin on 8 January next year with the B unit (business studies), followed by the C unit (science) on 9 January and the A unit (humanities) on 16 January. Preliminary applications run from 12 to 27 November.
Jahangirnagar University
Jahangirnagar University’s first-year undergraduate (honours) admission tests for 2026-27 may begin on 17 January. The test format and full schedule have not been finalised and will be decided at the next meeting of the academic council.
Jagannath University
Jagannath University’s tests begin on 1 January with the A unit, followed by the E unit on 8 January, the B unit on 15 January, the C unit on 22 January and the D unit on 23 January. Applications open at 12 noon on 15 November and close at 11:59pm on 10 December.
University of Chittagong
The University of Chittagong’s tests begin on 29 January with the C unit, followed by the A unit on 30 January, the B1 unit on 3 February, the B2 unit on 4 February, the B unit on 5 February, the D unit on 6 February and the D1 sub-unit on 8 February.
The B1, B2 and D1 sub-unit tests will be held on the Chittagong campus only. Tests for the other units will be held at the University of Chittagong and also on the Dhaka and Rajshahi university campuses. Online applications are open from 15 November to 10 December.
Khulna University
Khulna University will hold its tests on 17 and 18 December: the C and D units on 17 December and the A and B units on 18 December.
Comilla University
Comilla University’s 2026-27 first-year undergraduate admission tests begin on 5 February next year, and the tests for its three units end on 7 February. The decision was taken at a meeting of the central admission committee on 24 September.
GST cluster
The schedule for the 20 general and science and technology (GST) cluster universities has also been announced for 2026-27. The B unit test will be held on 19 March, the C and D unit tests on 20 March and the A unit test on 27 March 2027.
