The resit for students who failed one or two subjects in the HSC and equivalent examinations will begin on December 1. Students who want to take it must fill in the application form between November 5 and 9, and fees can be paid until November 10.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced this in a notice on Wednesday (November 4).

The notice said the form-filling for the HSC (supplementary) examination must be completed within the set time. The fee can be paid at any branch of Sonali Bank, and the payment receipt must be kept at the educational institution concerned.

Candidates must pay Tk 125 for each theory subject and Tk 25 for each practical subject, plus a centre fee of Tk 450. A student sitting one subject therefore pays Tk 600 in all.

The provisional list of candidates and the form-filling list will soon be published on the Dhaka Education Board website. The final list will be published within a day of the fee payment. Candidates’ signatures will then be taken after the list is checked. Every page of the list must carry the signature of the head of the institution, and a printed copy with the candidates’ signatures must be kept at the institution.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon had earlier said there were plans to hold a resit within a month for students who failed one or two subjects in the HSC and equivalent examinations.

This year 298,040 students failed one subject and 124,865 failed two subjects in the HSC and equivalent examinations.
