NARAYANGANJ — Tarique Rahman will attend a roadside rally at the Kanchpur Balur Math ground in Sonargaon on Sunday night (January 25) while traveling from Chattogram to Dhaka, party sources said.
The rally is being organized by Narayanganj-3 BNP-nominated candidate Azharul Islam Mannan and overseen by district Jubo Dal senior joint convener Khairul Islam Sajib. The five BNP-nominated candidates from Narayanganj district are scheduled to be formally introduced at the rally.
Party leaders and workers across the district and upazila units are showing great enthusiasm ahead of the rally. Party leaders said this is the first time BNP top leader Tarique Rahman is visiting Sonargaon, creating heightened emotion and expectation among local supporters.
Stage construction and overall preparations at the Kanchpur Balur Math ground are nearly complete as organizers work to turn the event into a mass gathering.
Narayanganj-3 BNP-nominated candidate Azharul Islam Mannan visited the rally venue on Saturday (January 24) afternoon to inspect stage preparations. He was accompanied by district and upazila BNP leaders and workers from various affiliated organizations.
During the visit, Azharul Islam Mannan said Tarique Rahman’s arrival is a source of inspiration for BNP leaders and workers in Sonargaon and across Narayanganj. “This rally will further accelerate our movement and election preparations,” he said.
He added that workers expect clear guidance from Tarique Rahman on conducting a free and democratic election. “This rally will prove that BNP is united and well organized,” he said.
Party leaders and workers are working day and night to make the rally a success. Organizers hope it will add a new dimension to the political landscape of Sonargaon and carry an important message for BNP in the upcoming national election.
