Jashore traders cut electricity use, close shops after 8 p.m. to save fuel

JASHORE — Traders in Jashore have decided collectively to forgo the use of extra electricity to conserve fuel in light of the global situation, business leaders said. There will be no decorative lighting at shopping malls, and shops will close after 8 p.m. Clothing and footwear traders have announced they will shut their shops after 8 p.m. starting on Eid.

The business leaders stressed the gravity of the situation during a discussion titled “Steps to Save Fuel in Light of the Global Situation,” organized around noon Thursday by the Jashore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
