Iran offers emergency aid to earthquake-stricken Venezuela

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has offered humanitarian and medical aid to Venezuela following the powerful earthquakes that struck the country, according to Iranian state media.

In a message sent to Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodriguez on Thursday, Pezeshkian expressed condolences and sympathy over the casualties caused by the earthquakes.

The Iranian president said the Islamic Republic stood alongside Venezuela’s government and people in the aftermath of the disaster. He said Iran was ready to provide emergency relief, medical assistance, and humanitarian aid to help reduce the suffering of those affected and to support ongoing rescue and recovery operations.

Pezeshkian described the earthquake as a tragic event and expressed hope that the Venezuelan people would overcome the disaster quickly.

Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday night. The death toll has reached at least 235, according to reports.
