Bangladesh is receiving praise from former Australian cricketers following their historic win. Mehedi Hasan Miraz singled out praise from legend Adam Gilchrist in particular.
Miraz said: “What I liked most is that I got to see all the legendary players here. Today, after I took my five wickets, Adam Gilchrist interviewed me — I really enjoyed that.”
Miraz said Gilchrist expressed astonishment and praise for Bangladesh’s performance. “He congratulated me and said Bangladesh played excellent cricket.”
Gilchrist said: “You’ve stunned us. We never imagined you could play cricket like this.”
Such a comment from a legend like Gilchrist means a great deal for Bangladesh. “When a legend like that says such good things about our team, it feels really good.”
