An induction ceremony was held in Meherpur’s Gangni upazila under the auspices of the National Citizen Party (NCP).
The event was organized after Asr prayers on Monday (June 1) at the NCP’s own office in Gangni upazila.
At the ceremony, 50 new members from various villages across the upazila formally joined the National Citizen Party.
Advocate Sakil Ahmed, the party’s central joint chief coordinator and chief coordinator for Meherpur district, attended as chief guest.

The meeting was presided over by Abdullah Al Mahmud, chief coordinator of the Gangni upazila unit, and conducted by Md. Sabuj Rana, joint coordinator of the upazila unit.
The welcome address was delivered by Md. Arif Khan, joint coordinator of the National Citizen Party’s Meherpur district unit.
Also present were Md. Mujahidul Islam, an organizer of the party’s central youth wing, Md. Sajedur Rahman, and NCP Meherpur district unit members Shamim Ahmed Azam and Amir Hamza.
Hasanuzzaman, head of Kazipur union, Saharul Islam, head of Sholotaka union, Monirul Islam, head of Mathmura union, and leaders of various other units were also present.
In his remarks as chief guest, Advocate Sakil Ahmed said the participation of young people was crucial to the movement for the country’s transformation and for establishing the rights of the people. He called on the new members to keep faith in the organization’s ideals and principles and to play an active role in welfare-oriented work.

Speakers at the meeting stressed the need to strengthen the organization further at the grassroots level. At the end of the event, the 50 new members were welcomed with floral greetings.
