Pakistan warned Israel it would be erased from the map after Pakistani military intelligence allegedly uncovered a Mossad plot to assassinate army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir during a peace conference in Switzerland, the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri reported on Thursday (June 25), citing Iran’s official news agency ISNA. BD Global Times could not independently verify the report.
According to the report, the alleged plot was timed to disrupt ongoing Iran-United States peace negotiations and push the Middle East back toward conflict. Pakistan’s military intelligence reportedly learned of the plan in detail but, rather than altering Munir’s schedule or the delegation’s itinerary, chose to send a direct warning to Israel through an intermediary.
The message reportedly stated: “If you touch our delegation, we will erase Israel from the map.” The warning was said to be so unambiguous it left no room for misinterpretation. Mossad ultimately called off the operation, the report said, crediting Pakistan’s response and Iran’s diplomatic efforts with preserving regional stability.
Hamshahri also noted that several missiles were reported to have been fired from Iran toward Turkey during the conflict. The basis for any claim that Turkey was considering intervening on Iran’s behalf has not been independently established.
