A US strike has damaged a water-treatment pump in the coastal village of Bunji in Iran’s Jask County, completely cutting off clean-water supply to 20 villages. About 10,000 residents of these villages have been left in severe crisis. Hormozgan Water and Sewerage Company chief executive Hamzeh Pour described the US strike as a “continued crime and terrorist attack,” saying the pumping station that draws water from the sea for the Bunji treatment centre, and the transformer supplying its power, were completely destroyed. He said this had left thousands of people in 20 villages facing a severe water crisis.
