The monthly meeting of the law and order committee has been held in Chaugachha, Jashore. It took place at 11:30am on Monday in the upazila parishad auditorium, with the upazila’s assistant commissioner (land), GMA Munib, in the chair.
The meeting took a decision on holding the coming Sharadiya Durga Puja in a highly festive atmosphere. It was told that law enforcers will carry out their duties strictly at each of Chaugachha’s 51 puja mandaps. It was also told that this year a police cyber team will play a large part in stopping false propaganda on social media.
Also present were Sikdar Nurul Amin, investigation officer of Chaugachha police station; MA Salam, president of the upazila BNP; Maulana Golam Morshed, ameer of the upazila Jamaat; assistant secretary Master Kamal Ahmed; Selim Reza Auliar, president of the municipal BNP, and its secretary, Abdul Halim Chanchal; Rahidul Islam Khan, vice-president of Press Club Chaugachha; secondary education officer SM Bazlur Rashid; Abdul Hamid Kennedy of Chaugachha Government College; Professor Kamruzzaman, president of the corruption prevention committee; and journalists’ leaders.
