DUCSU vice-president Sadik Kayem has made four demands, including the removal of Aminul Haque, state minister for youth and sports, over the leak of the question paper for the recruitment test for the post of assistant upazila youth development officer in the Department of Youth Development. He made the demands in a post on his verified Facebook account on Saturday afternoon.
In the post he said every syndicate involved in the leak must be identified and given exemplary punishment so that question leaks are ended for good; the state minister for youth and sports and the director general of the Department of Youth Development must be removed from their duties at once for administrative failure and an impartial investigation held; the officers, employees and rings involved must be quickly identified, arrested, investigated and tried; and compensation must be arranged for the affected candidates, taking their travel costs into account.
The recruitment test for the post (grade 11) was to be held at 11am on Saturday. More than 300,000 candidates from across the country were to sit it for 242 posts, and preparations had been made to hold it at about 100 centres in the capital. But it was suspended just before the start after evidence of a question leak was found.
In protest at the suspension, roads were blocked at the main gate of Bangla College in Mirpur and at Manik Mia Avenue, Shahbagh, the Nilkhet intersection and Satmasjid Road in the capital.
