Actress Sohana Saba has long built her life around her only child. Now, after many ups and downs in her personal life, she has revealed that a new person has come into it: she married about a year and a half ago, after a relationship of nearly five and a half years.

Saba’s husband is named Faisal, a businessman by profession.

Sohana Saba told the media that she and Faisal had been in a relationship for five and a half years before deciding to marry. She did not, however, wish to reveal the date of the wedding.

Asked how married life is going, Sohana Saba said: “My husband and I are well. It was a five-and-a-half-year relationship. The wedding was quite a while ago. I don’t want to give the date. My son is very happy.”

Speaking about how the relationship began and the decision to marry, she said: “I felt this was the person I had waited for all these years — from the very first sight. But I didn’t let him, or anyone, realise it. It was when he messaged me and told me he loved me that I said ‘yes.’”

Sohana Saba was once married, for love, to filmmaker and actor Murad Parvez. That marriage of nearly a decade produced one child, but the union ended in 2015. After the divorce, she raised her only child on her own and gradually rebuilt her life.

A television-drama actress, Saba later moved to the big screen. Her film career began with the shoot of “Ayna,” directed by the actress Kabori, though Morshedul Islam’s “Khelaghar” was released first, with “Ayna” following a month later. She went on to act in “Chandragrahan,” “Priyotomeshu,” “Brihonnola” and “Asambhab.” In India she worked in “Shawrripu,” “Epar-Opar” and another, as-yet-untitled film, and she also acted in Afzal Hossain’s “Maniker Lal Kankra.”
