Sadia Ayman is one of the most popular actors of the current generation of television drama, but she has been seen less on the small screen lately. She says the reason is the monotony of playing the same kind of character.
In a recent informal chat, the young actor spoke openly about her career, her personal priorities and her outlook on life.
Asked whether she would be seen equally in TV dramas, OTT and cinema, Sadia said: “I have already cut down on dramas. I don’t much like the stories in dramas these days; they are not what I want. There was a time when I liked the scripts so much that I was torn over which to take and which to drop. But the scripts I get now don’t draw me in. I have reduced the number of dramas mainly to avoid repeating the same kind of character, the monotony.”
In her view, it is vital for an artist not to stay stuck in one mould but to take on different and challenging roles. Wanting to give audiences something new, she is now focusing more on the big screen, web platforms and projects in new genres.
On her own nature and outlook, Sadia said: “I always feel comfortable speaking plainly. I prefer to avoid life’s complications and live simply and spontaneously.”
