Police have recovered the decomposing body of an unidentified man, about 25, found floating in a canal in the Satarkul Yasin Nagar area of Badda police station in the capital.
The body was sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy on Wednesday (June 17).
Sub-Inspector Mahbubul Alam of Badda police station said the body was recovered floating among water hyacinth in the Yasin Nagar canal. It was sent to Dhaka Medical College for an autopsy after legal procedures were completed.
He added that the victim’s identity was not yet known and that efforts were under way to gather more information. The body was partly decomposed, but no injury marks were found on it, he said. The cause of death would be known once the autopsy report was received. The victim was wearing black jeans and a half-sleeved checked shirt.
