A gang of armed robbers raided a brick kiln in Ghatail, Tangail, holding the manager at gunpoint and forcing him to drink drugged water before looting cash, important documents, and an electrical transformer valued at several lakh taka (tens of thousands of US dollars).

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Friday night at the Rupsha Brick Kiln in Dhalaparah union.

According to police and brick kiln sources, the armed gang entered the kiln’s office and immediately held manager Swapan at gunpoint, threatening to kill him. Ghatail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mokseduor Rahman said the Dhalaparah outpost was notified immediately after the incident. He said legal action would be taken once a written complaint is filed.
