LPG cylinder price cut by 55 taka to Tk 1,885

Dhaka: The consumer price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been reduced in Bangladesh. The price of a 12-kg cylinder was cut by 55 taka to Tk 1,885, down from Tk 1,940.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price in a bulletin on Tuesday, June 2. The rate takes effect at 6 p.m. the same day, the commission said.

The price of auto gas was also lowered, to Tk 86.93 a liter from Tk 89.50.

The 12-kg cylinder price was last raised on April 19, by 212 taka to Tk 1,940. Seventeen days earlier, on April 2, BERC had increased it by 387 taka to Tk 1,727. The two increases together added 599 taka to the 12-kg price.
