Five more people have died of measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 890. The information was given on Thursday (13 August) in the Directorate General of Health Services’ report on measles.
The health directorate said five more people had died of measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, and that 1,025 new patients had been recorded in the same period.
From 15 March to date, a total of 890 people have died of measles and measles symptoms across the country. Of these, 791 died of measles symptoms and 99 of confirmed measles.
In addition, 74 people were confirmed to have measles in the past 24 hours, and the number of patients with measles symptoms was 951. From 15 March to today, the total number of suspected measles patients stands at 140,076, and the number of confirmed measles patients at 17,543.
