The government has transferred Cumilla deputy commissioner (DC) Mu Reza Hasan to the post of Sylhet DC. It has also appointed Rozy Akter, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, as Cumilla DC, the Ministry of Public Administration said in a notification issued on Sunday.
On 21 June, Sylhet DC Sarwar Alam was withdrawn and attached to the Ministry of Public Administration. A human chain had been held in Sylhet demanding his reinstatement, and there had been speculation that his withdrawal order would be cancelled and he would be reinstated as DC.
New Dhaka divisional commissioner: The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a notification appointing Md Moniruzzaman Mia, an additional secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, as Dhaka divisional commissioner.
