US President Donald Trump has announced the lifting of a naval blockade on Iran. He made the announcement in a post on his own social media platform, Truth Social. The blockade had been imposed last month.

In the post, Trump set out several conditions for a possible US-Iran deal. Under them, Iran must pledge never to build nuclear weapons, and must ensure free shipping in both directions through the Strait of Hormuz without any tolls.

Trump said that if there are any mines in the strait, they too must be cleared quickly, and claimed US forces had already destroyed many mines by detonating them.

The president also said the American naval blockade on Iran’s ports would be lifted soon and that ships currently stuck would be able to return to their destinations.

He claimed that, with the cooperation of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United States would recover and destroy Iran’s underground uranium that was damaged in the US B-2 bomber strike about 11 months ago.
