Mobile court fines man 50,000 taka for illegal soil cutting in Taraganj

TARAGANJ — A mobile court fined a man 50,000 taka on Sunday afternoon for illegally cutting soil in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur district.

The court was held under the Sand Quarry and Soil Management Act 2010 at Bangalipur in Khiar Jumma Bazar.

Md. Hamidul Islam, 35, son of Md. Idris Ali of Doalipara village in Alampur union, was fined under Section 15(1) of the act and the money was collected on the spot.

The mobile court was conducted by Upazila Executive Magistrate and Additional Commissioner (Land) Asma Ul Husna. She said such operations would continue in the public interest.
