The government is giving importance to increasing employment for young people with higher degrees, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said. He said the government has also made plans to create a suitable environment for research.
He said budgets for the running of universities and for research have been increased.
He was replying to journalists’ questions on Sunday, 11 October, after the 38th convocation of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) at Board Bazar in Gazipur. The minister said the government is also taking the necessary steps on working with artificial intelligence (AI) in the international market.
The convocation was chaired by the university’s vice-chancellor, Prof Dr Md Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz.
Pro-vice-chancellor Dr Hossein Arabi Nour, distinguished guests from home and abroad, diplomats, teachers and parents were present. Mahdi Amin, adviser to the prime minister and spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office, and Prof Dr Mohammad Kaykobad of BRAC University also attended.
