The government has appointed 86 deputy attorneys general and 179 assistant attorneys general.
Separate notifications on the matter were issued by the solicitor’s office of the law ministry on Thursday (30 July). At the same time, the appointments of all previous deputy attorneys general and assistant attorneys general were cancelled.
The notification said that, cancelling the appointment orders of all deputy attorneys general and assistant attorneys general, and by the power given in article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 6 of 1972), 86 people had been appointed as deputy attorneys general of Bangladesh and 179 as assistant attorneys general of Bangladesh until further order.
