Six more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours. In the same period, measles and its symptoms were newly detected in another 1,008 people.
The information was given in the Directorate General of Health Services’ updated measles report on Saturday afternoon, July 25.
The bulletin said six more children died with measles symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours. No child died of confirmed measles, however.
This takes the total number of children who have died with measles symptoms across the country since March 15 to 721. Another 95 children have died of confirmed measles. That is, a total of 816 children have died with measles and measles symptoms in this period.
In addition, 78 children contracted measles in 24 hours, while the number of patients with measles symptoms was 613. In this period 581 children were newly admitted to hospital, and 479 children were discharged.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, from March 15 until today the total number of suspected measles patients is 1,22,763 and the number of confirmed measles patients is 15,272. Of these, a total of 1,05,298 patients were admitted to hospital, of whom 1,01,535 have already been discharged and returned home.
