The proposed budget allocates 7,515 crore 46 lakh taka to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs for fiscal 2026-27 — 6,529 crore 29 lakh taka for operating expenditure and 986 crore 17 lakh taka for development. Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud made the proposal in his 2026-27 budget speech in parliament on Thursday.
The 2025-26 budget for the ministry was 7,330 crore taka, which stood at 7,452 crore 19 lakh 32 thousand taka in the revised budget. The finance minister also proposed 616 crore taka for the July Mass Uprising Directorate in the coming fiscal year’s budget.
