Discussion recently began on social media about the health of the popular composer, music director and artist Ibrar Tipu. Many expressed concern after seeing him in a video posted on Facebook. His wife, the singer Bindu Kona, has now spoken about it.
Coming live from Ibrar Tipu’s Facebook account, Bindu Kona said her husband had been diagnosed with kidney cancer about two years ago. Since then he had undergone long treatment as well as a complex operation, and was now in post-treatment rehabilitation and recovering slowly.
Bindu Kona said: “Ibrar Tipu has had a major surgery, so he still has some difficulty speaking. He will recover slowly. After a recent video, many people were worried, called and asked what had happened. But it is not possible for him to talk to everyone at this moment. When he is a little better, Tipu will get in touch with everyone.”
She also said: “Two years ago Ibrar Tipu was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He has had to come through a difficult journey of long treatment and surgery. Now he is moving toward recovery. We did not actually want to tell anyone about it. But recently, after his video on Facebook,” people had grown concerned, she said, and so the family had decided to share the news and seek everyone’s prayers for his recovery.
