Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has advised students to prepare themselves to work for the welfare of the country. He made the remarks on Monday to students who had come to watch the budget session of the National Parliament during the lunch break. His wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, was present.
Forty-five students from four educational institutions in Madaripur district came to watch the budget session. They were waiting in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in the parliament building at midday. The prime minister spoke with the waiting students as he left his office for an event at the China Maitree Conference Centre.
The prime minister advised the students to take part in sports, culture and other creative activities alongside their studies. The students expressed delight at meeting the prime minister and thanked him for the memorable experience.
The students came to watch the budget session from four educational institutions in the constituency of Madaripur-2 MP Md Jahandar Ali Mia, on his initiative. The institutions were United Islamia Government High School, Donovan Government Girls’ High School, Rajoir Girls’ High School, and Tekerhat Popular High School and College.
Alongside watching the session, the students visited various important areas of the parliament building and learned about the history, architecture and workings of parliament.
