Israeli settlers have set fire to two mosques in the villages of Jiljilya and Mazra al-Nubani, north of the central occupied West Bank city of Ramallah. The settlers also scrawled slogans in Hebrew on the walls of the two mosques. This was reported by the Anadolu Agency on Wednesday, June 17.
Local sources told Anadolu that a group of settlers attacked Jiljilya at dawn and set fire to its mosque, burning the women’s prayer room and damaging the mosque’s outer wall.
Local residents said settler attacks in Jiljilya had increased recently. Israeli settlers attacked the village last month and stole sheep, they said.
Anadolu reported that in a separate incident the settlers attacked the village of Mazra al-Nubani and set fire to a mosque there, damaging it. The settlers wrote slogans in Hebrew on the walls of both mosques.
Israeli settler attacks in the West Bank are steadily increasing. They are seizing and looting Palestinian property.
