A housewife named Parvina Khatun, 40, has died of electrocution in Damurhuda, Chuadanga. The incident happened at midday on Thursday, July 23, in Komarpur village of the upazila.
The dead woman was the wife of Azizul Haque of the same village.
Locals said Parvina Khatun was working at home at midday. While moving a tin sheet from the house, it accidentally fell on a power line and snapped it. The tin sheet then became electrified and she was electrocuted, suffering serious injuries and dying on the spot.
Damurhuda Model police station officer-in-charge Sheikh Mesbah Uddin said an unnatural-death case would be filed at the station over the incident.
