Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has joined a special event titled “Youth, Startups and Bangladesh of Possibility,” held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building of the university, with the aim of integrating young people’s innovative thinking, creativity and entrepreneurial potential into the mainstream of national development. He joined the event at about 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam and the prime minister’s adviser on posts, telecommunications and information technology, Rehan Asif Asad, were present as special guests at the event. Dhaka University vice-chancellor Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam offered the vote of thanks.

Linking the innovative power of young people and women to the mainstream of economic progress, through the development of a new generation of entrepreneurs, is now a national priority. In keeping with this, the current government’s election manifesto 2026 gave special priority to startup and entrepreneur development for the country’s growth, job creation and technological transformation. A Tk 500 crore startup fund has already been formed for promising entrepreneurs, which will play an important role in financing and developing innovative ventures.
