India’s relationship with Israel is deepening as conflict intensifies in the Middle East, according to a report by the Guardian citing a recent Amnesty International investigation.

The investigation said India had emerged as an important part of the Israeli military’s weapons-supply chain despite Israel’s campaign in Gaza, where more than 70,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed. Those figures and characterizations are attributed to the cited sources.

Amnesty reviewed official trade and shipment data from Oct. 7, 2023, to Nov. 30, 2025, and said Indian factories shipped Israeli suppliers 390,516 small-arms components, 564,970 explosive-ordnance components and key parts for 298 military vehicles.

The Indian state-owned companies Munitions India Ltd., India Optel Ltd. and Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Ltd. were among the suppliers, Amnesty said. The organization warned that the activity could expose India to complicity in international crimes.

More than 20,000 Indian workers have also been sent to Israel’s construction and service sectors under agreements after Palestinian workers were barred from entering Israel, according to the report.

Indian foreign-policy expert Stanley Johny told the Guardian that ties between New Delhi and Tel Aviv had developed beyond diplomacy into strategic and defense cooperation. India was historically a supporter of Palestinian independence and a leader of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained close ties with Benjamin Netanyahu. India’s Supreme Court rejected petitions by citizens and former officials seeking to halt arms exports, saying the matter fell within the government’s authority. India’s Foreign Ministry said the exports complied with national law.
