India is sending arms and military equipment to Israel amid the ongoing killings in Gaza. In a report, the human rights organisation Amnesty International said these arms were being used against Palestinians, yet India had not stopped the supply.

Amnesty gave the information in a report published on Thursday (30 July). The report said it had analysed 2,596 shipments of arms, ammunition, parts and military equipment sent from India to Israel between 7 October 2023 and mid-2026.

According to the report, Indian companies supplied at least 390,516 small-arms parts, 564,970 components of explosive weapons — including drone warheads and the casings of artillery shells — and 298 military-vehicle components to Israel’s military suppliers.

Amnesty said that, by analysing commercial shipment data, it had confirmed that these goods reached various Israeli defence institutions, which then supplied them to the country’s army, which used them to carry out the killings in Gaza.

Earlier, Al Jazeera obtained 91 Indian customs export documents that revealed the export of bomb- and grenade-related components to Israel in 2024. The buyers of these shipments included the Israeli defence firms Rafael Advanced Defence Systems, IMI Systems Limited and MCT Materials.

The secretary general of Amnesty International, Agnès Callamard, said the world sees every day what is happening in Gaza. Even so, India continues to support Israel’s military and defence sector.

She further alleged that India has not only failed to control arms exports but has deepened its defence cooperation with Israel.

In 2024 the International Court of Justice issued an interim order for Israel to take measures to prevent possible genocide in Gaza. Since then, several independent UN experts and various human rights organisations have described Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), 29 percent of Israel’s total arms exports between 2020 and 2025 went to India, making the country one of Israel’s largest defence buyers. In the same period, 15 percent of India’s arms imports came from Israel.

In November 2025 the two countries signed a new defence cooperation agreement, announcing a further expansion of military, industrial and technological cooperation. India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, and Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, have in the past expressed a commitment to strengthening the two countries’ defence relations further.
