The process of paying salaries and allowances of all MPO-listed madrasa teachers and staff in the country by electronic fund transfer (EFT) has begun. To this end, the Directorate of Madrasah Education has ordered the online correction and updating of data, asking that the information be collected accurately in the prescribed format and kept ready by 31 August. The directorate announced this in a letter on Sunday, sent to the principals and superintendents of all madrasas in the country.
The directorate’s letter said that, to simplify the disbursement of MPO funds to teachers and staff of MPO-listed institutions under the Directorate of Madrasah Education and to ensure transparency in financial management, money would be sent directly to their bank accounts through EFT under the “government to person” (G2P) method, and that the online MPO system was being upgraded as needed. But teachers’ and staff’s information must be accurate for money to be sent by EFT. Under the directive, teachers and staff will fill in and sign the prescribed format and submit it to the head of the institution, keeping a soft copy for themselves; heads of institutions will collect and preserve the information, and arrangements will later be made to collect it online through a software link on the directorate’s website. Officials said that if all information is not accurate, salaries and allowances sent by EFT will not reach teachers’ and staff’s bank accounts, which is why madrasa principals, superintendents and teachers and staff have been specially requested to collect and keep all the format’s information accurately ready by 31 August.
