Jamaat-e-Islami holds education camp in Jashore

JASHORE — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami held an education camp at its district office in Jashore on Saturday, with central executive council member Mubarak Hussain, the party’s director for the Jashore-Kushtia region, as chief guest.

The camp opened at 9 a.m. at the auditorium of the Jashore district office. Professor Golam Rasul, district Jamaat ameer and member of parliament for Jashore-4, presided.

Special discussants included Maulana Azizur Rahman, MP for Jashore-1 and member of the central working committee; Dr. Mosleh Uddin Farid, MP for Jashore-2; district naib-e-ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman; district secretary Principal Abu Jafar Siddiqui; and assistant secretaries Golam Quddus and Belal Hussain.

Others who spoke included Professor Shamsuzzaman; education affairs secretary Professor Abul Hashim Reza; Professor Monirul Islam; Ahsan Kabir; district publicity secretary Shahabuddin Bishwas; and Shihab Uddin.

In his speech as chief guest, Hussain said Jamaat-e-Islami would continue its struggle to build a just and corruption-free society both inside and outside parliament. He said the party was working tirelessly for the welfare of the country and its people and that this would continue.

He said the party’s leaders had given their lives in the past as martyrs but had never bowed to anti-state forces.

About 150 leaders and activists from 11 organizational branches of Jashore district took part in the camp.
