The body of a fisherman was recovered on Wednesday morning from a field in the Bishwa Road area beside the Chhoto Belail Eidgah ground in Bogura Sadar upazila.
The dead man, Sajjad, was the son of Abed Ali of Shajahanpur upazila.
Local people said he had gone to the area at night to fish. In the morning they saw his body lying in the field and informed the police, who went to the spot and recovered it.
A fishing spear, a bag containing some fish and a torch were found at the scene. From this evidence it is thought that he died there while fishing. The exact cause of death could not be confirmed immediately, though local people believe he was killed by lightning. Sadar police station officer-in-charge Ibrahim Ali said the body had been recovered and sent to the morgue.
