BNP acting secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that fallen collaborators are working in various ways, and getting involved in acts of sabotage, to put an elected government in trouble and unsettle the country. Everyone must be on guard against this, he said.
He was speaking on Wednesday before distributing dengue awareness leaflets on the grounds of Bangladesh Medical University in Dhaka.
Saying that everyone’s effort is needed to tackle dengue, Rizvi said it could largely be controlled if people became aware in advance.
He said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had instructed people to quickly clear stagnant and foul water around their homes so that dengue could not breed. Dengue tests, which used to be paid for, have now been made free.
He said Tarique Rahman’s government was a government of the people and would not indulge any kind of anarchy or crime.
He also voiced suspicion about how a top criminal could escape from a police van.
