Three children have died in separate drowning incidents in Mousha and Kalinagar villages of Magura. On Tuesday morning, a two-year-old girl and her three-year-old cousin drowned in a pond in Mousha village of Mohammadpur upazila. The two were first cousins.
In the other incident, a boy went missing after slipping and falling into the Madhumati river in Kalinagar village of Magura Sadar upazila, where he had gone with his uncle to help with retting jute on the riverbank. He was a third-grade pupil of Kalinagar Government Primary School and a resident of Kalinagar village. After a long search, locals saw a body floating in the Madhumati river in the Bagbaria area of Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning and informed the fire service. A fire service diving team then went to the scene and recovered the missing boy’s body.
