A motorcyclist named Md Bazlur Rashid has been killed after being run over by a truck in Dhaka’s Dhamrai upazila. The accident happened in the Madhudanga area of the upazila’s Kalampur regional highway on Thursday (6 August) morning.
Md Bazlur Rashid’s home was in the Kanthalia area of Dhamrai upazila. He was a rural veterinary worker by profession.
According to local sources, on Thursday morning a brick-laden truck collided with Bazlur Rashid’s motorcycle in the area near Madhudanga bridge. As the truck ran over the motorcycle, Bazlur Rashid died on the spot. The truck then lost control and skidded off to the side of the road, and the motorcycle was mangled.
Eyewitnesses said the truck’s helper was also injured in the accident. He was rescued and admitted to hospital.
