Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended in a fall on Thursday, the week’s final session. All indices, including the main price index, declined on the day.
According to DSE sources, 33 crore 48 lakh 76 thousand 445 shares and mutual-fund units of 495 companies were traded on the day, bringing total turnover to Tk 1,118 crore 24 lakh 73 thousand 762.
At the day’s close, the DSE’s benchmark index, the DSEX, fell 25.92 points from the previous session to 5,900.36 points. The DSE-30 index dropped 15.28 points to 2,227.63 points, and the DSE Shariah index (DSES) fell 2.08 points to 1,206.86 points.
Among the companies that traded, 103 shares and units rose in price, 240 fell and 52 remained unchanged.
The 10 companies at the top of turnover were Techno Drugs, Summit Alliance Port, Malek Spinning, Far East Knitting, Taufika Foods, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, BRAC Bank, BSC, City Bank and Navana Pharmaceuticals.
The top 10 gainers were Techno Drugs, Far Chemical, AIBBL First Islamic Mutual Fund, Agni Systems, Ambee Pharma, ML Dyeing, Silco Pharma, Apex Tannery, Aman Feed and Mir Akhter.
The top 10 losers were Usmania Glass Sheet Factory, BIFC, Zeal Bangla Sugar, GQ Ball Pen, Sena Insurance, Generation Next, Sonar Bangla Insurance, Asiatic Laboratories, BSRM Limited and CNA Textiles.
