Rashed Khan, a former coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement and an active fighter of the July revolution, is undergoing treatment at Jashore’s 250-bed General Hospital after being injured in a road accident.
On Friday (7 August), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Jashore district Amir and Jashore-4 member of parliament Professor Golam Rasul visited the hospital to inquire about his condition.
A source said Rashed Khan suffered a serious injury to his left leg after falling from a motorcycle in the New Market area of Jashore town on the morning of 4 August. He was quickly admitted to the Jashore 250-bed General Hospital and is currently under doctors’ close supervision.
At the hospital, MP Professor Golam Rasul inquired about the injured man’s condition, spoke with the doctors, and consoled and encouraged his family. He prayed to Almighty Allah for Rashed Khan’s speedy and full recovery.
Professor Golam Rasul said the nation had a responsibility towards those who had bravely played a role in the movement to establish the people’s rightful rights in the country’s time of crisis. The sacrifice and contribution of the July revolution’s fighters would remain memorable, he said. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami had always stood by people out of a sense of humanitarian duty, he said, and would continue to stand by the injured fighters of the July revolution and all helpless and vulnerable people, assuring that necessary cooperation and follow-up would continue.
Also present were Jashore district Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary Golam Kuddus, Maulana Rezaul Karim, Jashore district anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Suaib Husain, Sarowar Gazi, Abu Hurayra and other local leaders and workers.
After the visit, special prayers and munajat were held for the injured Rashed Khan’s speedy and full recovery and a blessed life, with all present praying to Almighty Allah for his early recovery.
