CHOUGACHHA, Jashore — A mobile court in Jashore’s Chougachha upazila on Tuesday seized 200 liters of illegal diesel and fined the owner of Bishwas Filling Station 10,000 taka.

The fuel was seized around midday from Chanpur intersection in the municipal town, officials said. The court was led by Upazila Executive Officer Farzana Islam.

According to court sources, a van was carrying the 200 liters of diesel from Chougachha to a grocery shop at Saratala Bazar in Sharsha upazila when local residents stopped it at Chanpur intersection. Islam arrived at the scene after being informed and fined the agent 10,000 taka.

The seized diesel will be sold at government-fixed prices at Bishwas Filling Station and the proceeds deposited in the government treasury, she said.

Chougachha Upazila Agriculture Officer Moshabbir Hussain and Officer-in-Charge Mamunur Rashid were present during the operation.

“The agent has been fined,” Islam told reporters. “Mobile court operations will continue to protect farmers’ interests and ensure transparent diesel management.”
