Border Guard Bangladesh has foiled an attempt to push 11 people across the Darshana border in Chuadanga.

India’s Border Security Force pushed the 11 people across near main pillar 76-77 along the Darshana-Genda frontier at about 4 a.m. on Sunday (June 14). Of them, eight were men and three were women.

At dawn, a BGB patrol took them and left them near the barbed-wire border fence. Their whereabouts afterward could not be confirmed.

Lt. Col. Nazmul Hasan, commander of BGB’s Chuadanga 6 Battalion, said BGB patrols, intelligence surveillance and operational activities were continuing to curb push-ins and other illegal activity along the border.

The Chuadanga 6 Battalion covers 113 kilometers of border across Chuadanga and Meherpur districts.
