A college student named Kawsar Hossain, 25, has drowned in a pond in Kushtia after going in to bathe with friends.

The incident took place at noon on Saturday, July 25, in the pond at DC Park.

The dead student, Kawsar Hossain, was the son of Afsar Uddin of the Islam Para area of Ishwardi upazila in Pabna. He lived with his parents in a rented house in the Udibari area of Kushtia town. Kawsar was a third-year honours student in the chemistry department of Kushtia Government College.

Looking back, they saw Kawsar in the middle of the pond shouting “Save me, save me.” Shaon quickly went and tried to pull his friend Kawsar out. At one point both of them went under. Shaon then let go of his friend and came back up to the surface.
