Kushtia distributes 31.7 million taka in checks to road accident victim families

Checks totaling 31.7 million taka, sanctioned for families affected by road accidents, were distributed in Kushtia.

The checks were handed over to relatives and family members of the affected individuals Sunday afternoon at an event held in the district commissioner’s conference room.

Mosammat Mumtaz Begum, Director (Operations) and Joint Secretary at BRTA headquarters, attended as chief guest and distributed the checks.

Speakers at the event included BRTA Khulna Deputy Director Tanvir Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police Faisal Mahmud, Kushtia Bus-Minibus Owners Group General Secretary Kazi Rafiqur Rahman Rafiq, Kushtia Motor Workers Union President Mahbubul Alam, and BRTA Kushtia Assistant Director, among others.

A total of 31.7 million taka was distributed this time through 83 checks. Of this, 27.5 million taka was distributed to the families of 55 deceased victims at 500,000 taka each, and 4.2 million taka to 28 injured victims’ families. Among the injured, those with severe injuries or amputations received checks of 300,000 taka, while those with minor injuries received 100,000 taka.
